The chances are if you look through interiors on Instagram you have seen the super cool wooden side tables and wall shelves with the leather straps, right? But you may not know who creates these beauties.
That is H&G Designs.
Once I found their page and looked through their products, I knew I HAD to do a feature on them. They create wooden side tables, wall shelves and ladders with leather strapping and the result is beautiful! They are used in a lot of Scandinavian spaces, which is very on-trend at the moment. These products are the perfect addition for anyone who wants something a bit unique in their space that is high quality.
Alongside furniture they also create leather accessories, including; napkin rings, loop handles, handles, print hangers and wall hooks. The talented duo, Hailey and Glenn have been featured in magazines such as Real Living, Inside Out and were shortlisted for the Etsy Design awards for Australia and New Zealand.
All materials are sourced in Australia, as well as the products themselves being designed and made in Australia. H&G Designs is based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and happily ship all over Australia, as well as worldwide.
Check out the images of their styled products below, if this doesn't make your heart flutter, I don't know what will!

What inspired you to begin this venture and what has been the biggest surprise?
The main inspiration was the construction of our latest house. We had experimented and made different furniture for our last renovation but I think our latest build was our true inspiration. We absolutely loved everything to do with the build, the late nights planning, the long days on the tools, the coordinating of different trades, we loved it. After we had finished we knew we had at least another year before we would build again but we really wanted to keep our creative build side going so H and G was the next stage. The biggest surprise... there have been so many! I think the popularity of children's interiors has blown me away. We don't have kids so it wasn't something we were naturally drawn to but our products have become popular in that demographic- now I can't get enough of a cute nursery or kids room! We have just finished a cute desk shelf combo for kids rooms we will be launching soon and I'm currently planning my sisters nursery so there is sure to be a few more kids inspired products coming from us.
How would you describe your companies aesthetic/vision?
Our current designs are quiet scandi inspired with the use of leather and timber. We do love this look and are working with new materials using this same aesthetic. Our long term vision is to expand into a greater furniture range as well as homewares but stick to souring materials locally rather than put our products into an overseas production setup.
Picking a business name is one of the toughest decisions, how did you select yours and what is the meaning behind it?
Haha, well...great thought and creativity went into our business name! H= Hailey and G= Glenn and Designs= what we do. Sorry no exciting deep and meaningful story there :)
What advice would you give to your younger-self?
I would have told my 10 year old self to change out of my pj's when my parents asked me to that time in Byron Bay when we were traveling around Australia- I lost two weeks pocket money which resulted in no daily icecream for TWO weeks! I regret that. Besides the pj incident I think everything served it's purpose as a life lesson so I wouldn't give too much advice.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Both G and I have heaps of places on the bucketlist. Current top is Tonga to swim with the whales. Early this year we sailed the Ningaloo for two weeks swimming with the whalesharks it was unreal so really keen to swim with the whales now. Or snowboarding in Japan....or diving in Palau....or... the list goes on!
