CULTIVER

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I have a serious obsession with linen. It has such an effortless and sophisticated feel and look to it. When I stumbled across CULTIVER's instagram page (@CULTIVER_GOODS) I was in my element!

CULTIVER focuses on the concept of everyday luxury, they create high-quality and timeless pieces that can be enjoyed in everyday life. I'm sure we all have those certain pricey items that we're slightly afraid to actually use, I know I do and thats why I LOVE this concept.

CULTIVER is based in Sydney, NSW and began in 2012 with an initial range of pure linen bedding. As time has passed they have expanded into stonewashed bedding, vintage silk velvet cushions, premium Turkish cotton robes and sleepwear. With the company motto of 'cultivate the good life', they indeed provide products to do just that.

Take a look at their website http://www.cultiver.com/ and find beautiful homewares and accessories to add a touch of luxury to your daily life!

I was lucky enough to have my questionnaire answered by CULTIVER's founder, Nicolle Sullivan. Have a read of the below for an insight into the mind behind it all.

What inspired you to begin this venture and what has been the biggest surprise?

I was inspired by my love of online shopping and the idea of making a luxury product accessible to more people - I loved being able to source things from around the world and i could see my interests moving from purely fashion to homewares as I started a family and home. I wanted to transfer that thrill of being able to find an elusive "cult" product through scouring the web to more than just clothes!

How would you describe your companies aesthetic/vision?

We are all about "cultivating the good life" - bringing pleasure and enjoyment into everyday activities. From special products (that aren't too precious to use daily),  to the customer experience and all the little extras, putting the fun back in shopping for home.

Picking a business name is one of the toughest decisions, how did you select yours and what is the meaning behind it?

It was the result of weeks of brainstorming! I wanted something unique obviously but i like that we settled on a word that evokes what we are about - CULTIVER means "to cultivate" in French.

What advice would you give to your younger-self?

Buy more art, because once you have a mortgage and kids, there will always be more practical expenses fighting for the funds!

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Italy. In a heartbeat.
